It is my understanding that the list Hermione was looking at was for
Animagi that were (first) registered in the current century.  Since
we're told that DD is approx 150 years old, he could have been
registered on last century's list, which Hermione did not check.


IMO, we're all just making a big assumption that DD was an Animagus,
but would fit with the story.
