Hagrid picked up baby Harry from the wreckage of Godric's Hollow on 
Halloween night.  It was *24 hours later* that he arrived w/ Harry at 
Privet Drive, on Sirius' motorbike.  (Remember that McGonagall had 
been there all day, in cat form, waiting?)

Some of us developed rather elaborate theories about what might have 
been going on during this time. :)

I put forth one possibility, christened the DRIBBLE SHADOWS, which 
developed further with help from Jen Reese, Potioncat, and others. 

Siriusly Snapey Susan,
laughing about her dinghy still being afloat by virtue of the fact 
thay JKR didn't tell us about the 24 hours or all 12 of the uses of 
dragon's blood!  :)
