Correct me if I'm wrong (but I don't think I am), but HOW do you know
that the letter in front of Sirius was Lily's letter? Why would he show
Snape evidence that Dumbledore was ever friends with the 2nd baddest
wizard in history? Or why would he think that it may taunt Snape in
some way to read Lily writing 'Lots of Love'? Sirius doesn't appear to
know that Snape had loving feelings towards Lily. And Snape knew Sirius
was close to her (wasn't he supposed to be the Secret Keeper after all)?
I always asumed that that letter was from Dumbledore, explainig why (at
least a part) he wanted Harry to learn Occlumency. DD wasn't a stupid
man, he must have known that Sirius wouldn't Harry to study occlumency
with Snape, he must have needed some form of explanation. Besides,
Sirius was the one that told DD about Harry feeling Nagini inside him.
