You are, right, of course, about balance.  But that isn't the question ("Are the
various virtues interdependant as they draw strength from one another?" Or "Can
a virtue taken to excess or in isolation become a vice?" or something similar
[all valid questions, BTW); the question that has been put is "Which virtue is
the most important?"  JKR answers 'courage'.
