Join the club.  some of us hoped the same thing about Sirius, as we did not
ever see his body there either!  And all we got was a sappy walk through the
forbidden forest with Harry, his dead parents, his dead godfather and dead
Lupin.  Sigh.  So, though we wish different characters were still alive, I
can understand your wish that Snape still lives, somewhere else.
Unfortunately, I guess I'll have to stick to fan fiction now to have Sirius
come back!  LOL.
