I'm sure he also explained in his "last" that he might accidentally 
reveal the "past" ones of hers (her pleas to admit her to Hogwarts) to 
her family/community, which would be her worst nightmare I'm sure. 
That's why, in DD's words, she took Harry in "unwillingly, grudgingly, 
bitterly".
