Well, I hope that too. I'd like to read it like that, believe me. But (as you said) you can't 
make a case for it from canon. (I'd in fact argue that that incessant drumbeat about Harry 
having 'exactly' Lily's eyes argues against that interp, in that it leads the reader to believe 
Snape would look at Harry and SEE Lily.)

Does Snape even really see Harry in his last moments? Or does he see (or is he trying to 
see) Lily? No way of knowing, so you're free to go where you'd like. For sure the former 
would be a lot less 'ick' than the latter.

Whoever wrote that maybe he'd be Snape'd be hoping for/receiving comfort and/or 
forgiveness from Harry -- Snape might hope for that, but I don't think Harry could 
possibly have given it at that point. Hadn't seen the memories yet. As far as he knew, 
Snape was still DD's murderer, and public enemy #2...
