Thanks for answering my question Betsy. Personally I do not see the 
first two examples as anything else but condemnation of ideology. I 
mean, it is not like Slytherins left and did not join the fight. at 
least if we believe Voldemort, they did join the fight, just for the 
side they believed in, no?

So, I do wonder what this has to do with their personalities.

And also their flag in RoR - they did not join DA, since they did 
not believe in it, no?


But I do grant you  that I see how Dumbledore's remark can be read 
as condemnation of personality.

However, this is one remark, by the man, whom I love, but who made 
so many mistakes that I am not sure we can mix it with author's 
voice.

IMO of course.
