Renee *offering another reason after everything else that has been
mentioned*:

DD thought Draco worth saving and actually died for him (yes, he was
going to die anyway, but I don't think this made a difference). I
don't think for a moment Harry was going nullify DD's sacrifice by
letting Draco die after all, not if he could help it. Especially not,
as Draco did nothing to further Voldemort's aims in DH - on the contary.
