Kemper now:
The Muggle pacifists would not care about the Wizards.
Rather, in the US it would be the fear and warmongers who would want
to regulate wand registration.  Perhaps get the Floo Network and
Portkey Office under the TSA.   Retrieve owls and read mail without
court orders.
Of course, it would be to keep the US Muggle citizens safe.

It is funny to think them that way :)
