mueckelein:
Hi, Carol, I am one of those who think that Harry WAS a Horcrux. At
the end of GoF Voldemort took it back again! That´s what he needed
Harry´s blood for. I think that Harry never faced the Avada Kedavra. He was made a Horcrux by Voldemort on purpose. Horcruxes definately do not happen accidently. A spell must be said according to Slughorn's information. And I do not think that Voldemort sings the spell along for fun....He made Harry a Horcrux to make Harry´s life dependent on his. If Harry is killed, he will be dead, but only a seventh of Voldemort´s soul will be gone. Harry was Voldemort´s guarantee for life - at least it was planned that way by Voldemort. But the plan went wrong: Voldemort had split his soul too often and lost his power. To get it back he had to take back this part of soul. That explains why Voldemort never really tried to kill Harry before the end of GoF. He murdered Cedric so easily, why didn´t he do the same with Harry if not for a certain purpose?! He needed Harry alive. At the instant he gained back his powers he tries to kill Harry because he knows the prophecy.
