Ah. I see what you are saying.

I wonder if they will volunteer information about horcruxes to her or if
she'll have to prod them. But the portraits seem loyal to t he rightful head
of Hogwarts. (Rightful. Not someone like Umbridge. lol) So I imagine she
wouldn't have to twist their arms too much.

That's a good point about why Snape and Dumbledore might have taken their
discussion outdoors. Assuming we are talking about them planning the events
at the end of HBP, it would be crucial that nobody would interfere or know
information that could make this plan fail. Even if the information were
given out to the new head after Dumbledore was gone, it could put lives in
danger.
