What Dumbledore says is that as long as Harry can call home the place 
where his mother's blood dwells, Voldemort cannot harm him. Those are 
Dumbledore's specific words "where your mother's blood". Harry's 
protection is in his very blood - also Dumbledore's own words. This 
is why Quirrell could not touch him without burning his flesh.
