I tend to think that Hagrid does know somthing more then we give
him credit for. As we see in hbp Hagrid has many of his own secrets.
his pet spider, his dragon egg, and the things he knew about the
half blood prince. Still his loyalty to Dumbledore has never
changed. So if he does not outright accuse Snape I think there is a
reason for it.
