That's a good theory. I was just thinking about what Random832 just
reminded us, that JK has said that it is important for book 7. But
what is important? The mirror itself? Or the fact that he forgot the
mirror? Your answer is in line with the second option, that Harry
learns that he must be more careful and less forgetful in the future.
