Pippin:
Um, I'm sure you thought of this by now, but there's
no need for the constructors of the puzzle to play through
the previous challenges. Just set them up in reverse
order!  Snape's challenge first, then Quirrell's, etc,
finishing with Hagrid and Fluffy. The only person who
needs a 'backdoor' is Dumbledore, who uses it to
place the mirror, and later to rescue Harry.
