True, JKR ain't Homer. But one does not have to be Homer to add to the 
one main theme couple of others. Like love and forgiveness and hero 
coming of age and surpassing his mentor in something, etc. 

So, I do not think the narrative will fall appart if Harry thoughts 
about Snape would be at least partially verified.

IMO of course.
