Ok guys- this is my revelation of the day- feel free to pick it
apart! I want to hear what you think.
1) Harry's scar is a Horcrux
CoS- "Voldemort put a bit of himself in me?" Harry said, thuderstruck.
"It certainly seems so." (DD)
GoF- "Because you and he are connected by the curse that failed, "
said Dumbledore. "That is no ordinary scar."
2) Because Harry's scar is a Horcrux (which will realize near the end
of book 7) , he is stuck with having to destroy himself in order to
kill Voldemort.
3) Harry, after much thought, decides he is willing to go through
with this as he understands that in sacrificing himself he will be
saving millions of wizard lives. Out of love he will go through with
his suicide.
4) However... it is not his sacrifice that will kill Voldemort. At
the moment Harry is about to kill himself, Voldemort will die! By
making the selfless choice out of love, Voldemort will be defeated.
Harry will not have to go through with the sacrifice and he will not
have to kill Voldemort in some other way and possibly face going to
Azkaban. The intense love of being willing to complete such an act
will be enough to destroy Voldemort.
Think of Genesis 22- God asks Abraham to kill his son and out of love
for God Abraham is about to do it until the last minute when God was
like "just kidding". Knowing that Abraham would have done it was
enough...
What do you guys think of that?
