Kristin:
But, that doesn't seem right, because she said "it had been planned
for so long". I keep wanting to believe it's Hagrid she's howling
over, because I know he's a favorite of hers, and frankly, his death
wouldn't cause me that much grief.

:::waves::: I haven't posted in a while, but my anticipation of DH
is just killing me, I have to jump in here!
The "howling" that JKR referenced was done after she had finished a
chapter near the end of the book. She didn't actually say she was
howling because she killed anyone off -- in fact, in context, she was
referencing the emotions that she was feeling upon completing the
book. While I'm certain that several of our favorite characters are
going to die, and may even die within the chapter she referenced, I
think she "howled" in emotional release of being so near the end of
what she's been doing for 17 years.
But I have to agree with Kristin as well -- Hagrid's a goner. :0(
JMO! ;0)
