Well, Dedalus (greek myth) was supposed to have invented the 
labyrinth (Gringott's anyone?) which was so complicated that even he 
had trouble finding his way back out. McGonagall in PoS says he 
never had much sense! In mythology Minerva is Dedalus' sister. So 
don't give up hope just yet.
