Eddie:
I don't recall this in canon.  In fact I remember that Neville's
family thought he might be a squib until his uncle (grandfather?)
dropped him out of a window and he bounced.  Would his family have
known he was already "put down for Hogwarts" and therefore know
Neville was no squib?
