Miss Vassy: I find it interesting that you mention a door knob.
My friend has a theory, and I don't know if it was ever mentioned
on this site, that the knocker on Dumbledore's office is a horcrux
that Tom made when he was leaving Dumbledore's office after he was
refused a job at Hogwarts. After all, it is a "griffin door knocker."
Hmmmm...
