So to reiterate - reminded of a more careful reading- it was Harry's  
blood in Voldemort that tethered Harry to the living.
So it remains unclear, and at this point an unnecessary distinction  
that Avada Kadavra affects the Life, not the Soul (?)

But still no answer to:

second? Why was the house at Godric's Hollow destroyed but nothing in
the Forbidden Forest?
