Eddie:
If Dumbledore wanted to end the power of the wand, why didn't he just
break it?  Assuming JKRowling thought of this option and chose to not
to have Dumbledore/Snape/Harry take it, then I can only assume that
she wanted/needed D/S/H to *use* the power of the Elder wand to defeat
Voldemort.  Which Harry did, I think.
