Okay, I loved DH, so I disagree with nearly all of your post, but this
part most of all. Just because you didn't understand something doesn't
make it impossible to understand. It made complete sense to me.
I was of the Harry-is-not-a-Horcrux camp; I guess if I believed that he
was, then I'd've understood immediately that Dumbledore was working out
for himself that Harry was a Horcrux, and that, though Voldemort's soul
resided in Harry, they were "in essence, divided," meaning they could
be killed separately. So, Harry could go into battle with Voldemort,
sacrifice himself, and yet still live through it. Since I stubbornly
clung to my Harry-is-not-a-Horcrux theory, though, I didn't "get it"
until the very end.
