Well, I thought that maybe the reason Snape was so despicable towards
Harry for 6 years was because not only did he see Lily's eyes when he
looked at Harry, but he saw hatred in those eyes - Harry's hatred of
Snape.  Snape was daily reminded of Lily's disappointment in his
choices.
