And let's not forget our ever-practical witch friend. I find it 
totally in-character for Hermione to realize they needed those fangs, 
not see Harry around, and rush off to get them awhile without him. 
I'm sure she was thinking, "Well, what'll he do once he's got the 
Horcruxes and Voldemort in front of him?" Always planning ahead, she 
is, unlike our hero.
