Well, there's also the old saw that the windows are the eyes to one's
soul. Dumbledore reminds Snape in DH that Harry has Lily's inner
qualities (caring about others, wanting to do what is right, etc.).
So, I always thought the eyes were an indication of the type of person
he was: A good, brave, loyal, courageous one, like his mom.
