Well, I don't tend to mind if they translate the German words
to American English when they sing it.  

But you made me think about something I'd heard, which was that 
"I Wanna Hold Your Hand" was written specifically for American
audiences, because *someone* (either the Beatles or their manager)
thought that their other songs were too British to appeal to the 
taste of the Yanks.

And speaking of Yanks... there's that lovely moment in "Life is Sweet"
when Natalie tries to make a pun about Yanks and Yanking and 
Nichola looks for her aghast and calls her a "racist."
