Jen:  What is an alethiometer?  Does it give information about the 
future, like probabilities?  I wondered because you mentioned DD 
knowing what to teach Harry, and then I remembered the planets on 
the watch and how the Centaurs divine by looking at planet 
positions.  And do you think Ron's is the same thing even though it 
looks different? 

I've wondered if DD's watch has something to do with altering 
matter, the reason for his ability to become invisible as well as 
offering a way to be in several places at once.  I'm not sure such a 
watch would be necessary though, given his ability in 
Transfiguration.
