Joe:
I understood DD's comments to mean that love was the means that Harry 
was able to thwart LV. Harry saw his loving parents in the mirror and 
it was thoughts of love that drove LV from possessing Harry in the 
MoM. LV hated his father enough to kill him and his feelings towards 
his mother never struck me as loving. I recall JKR saying in an 
interview that LV has never loved anyone in his life. Somehow Harry's 
ability to love will conquer LV in the end.
