Maybe it's just a really good book.
Seriously - real world examples, again. When I was at school, our Latin textbook (and I
started studying Latin in 1988) dated from the 1930s. It had been reprinted but when I lost a
copy, my teacher gave me a much older one that was the same inside. In some senior
mathematics classes we used a book published in 1878. Sometimes an old text book can be
a very good book and it remains in use because it's a very good book.
