To illustrate my point, here is a sample (fake) passage. 

"Aunt Petunia went to the store. She walked out the front way, spread her wings, and flew there. 'I'd better not buy more than a couple of kilo's of groceries.' she thought. 'Unlike those awful wizards, we non-magic people can't carry that much when we fly.'"

Hey, if JKR says that normal humans have wings and fly, well, it's her book.
