I think there was ample proof that it was known throughout the
Wizarding world, especially among the death eaters, that Voldemort
had some difficulty hurting or killing Harry. Several deatheaters,
starting with the fake Moody in book 4, wanted to kill Harry off for
Voldemort. I'm pretty sure the deatheaters would have relished the
chance of being there first. But it is an interesting thought,
whether the deatheaters might have thought they too could not hurt
Harry. From Harry's nervousness, it seems clear he didn't think so.
He was quite frightened of being found out and being killed, for real
this time. If Voldemort had learned Harry was alive, Voldemort's
return to Hogwarts would have been delayed for a couple of seconds.
