Allie:

JKR makes no indication that ANYONE - including Grindelwald and 
Aberforth - knew that Dumbeldore was gay and fell in love with GG.  
Just like she makes no indication whether or not it was a requited 
love or any sort of physical relationship.  So it IS possible that 
DD fell in love with the man and yet we still did not hear about it 
from Auntie Muriel or Rita Skeeter.  My assumption is they didn't 
know.
