I think Dumbledore's interest in immortality was purely academic. He
wasn't interested /in/ achieving immortality, he was curious /about/
how one goes about it. I suspect that is because he knew this was an
obsession of Voldemorts, and the more he new about it, the better
chance he had at guessing what Voldemort had done or might do.

But I really don't see Dumbledore chasing immortality the way
Voldemort is. Dumbledore seemed quite comfortable with death.

As a general note, let's keep in mind that Dumbledore was well over
100 years old. I think he was past the stage where SEX dominated his
thoughts and his life.
