I would also agree with you Del; there is a huge distinction between
being discriminatory toward practicing homosexuals and supporting
homosexuality as "normal". The church I belong to teaches that you
are not a bad person if you have homosexual tendencies, but that it
is immoral to act on them.
One thing that I have noticed is that JKR did not say, either in book
canon or her interview, if DD had acted on his homosexual impulses
with GG. Maybe, maybe not. Either way, being gay is not all that DD
was. I really don't think it has that great a bearing on the story.
