In love with Ginny or Hermione?

I can remember when the first two movies came out; people wondered if a
love interest would develop between Hermione & Harry.

Was it JK's plan that Harry would fall in love with Ginny or is this a
story line she developed along the way?

As I'm discovering the books for the first time, I get the feeling that
she planned for Harry to fall in love with Ginny from the first book.

But I've only discovering the magic of the books, so what do I know.
