Or Impedimenta, to stop the bus.  Or that thing DD does to slow Harry 
down when he's falling off his broom in PoA.

Or Sonorus, to make your voice so loud that I can hear you in time to 
jump out of the way myself. 

It's always easier to just force people to do what you want - that 
doesn't make it the best choice.
