Meann:
Tom Riddle was born 31 Dec.1926 based on the usual formula used to 
calculate most years in the HP world - Nick's deathday. If that's 
accurate, he was at Hogwarts in 1938.

Lily, James, and their contemporaries, were born around 1960, give 
or take a year, so they would've entered Hogwarts in 1971. That's 
a 33-year difference.  =)

Tom's contemporaries at Hogwarts were Hagrid, Moaning Myrtle, Prof.
McGonagall, and the future Death Eaters Avery and Rodolphus Lestrange.
