I think the Dursleys would choose to not admit to any child even if it were Dudley's. Even though it was hinted that Petunia hated wizards and witches out of jealousy- I see alot of prewar Germany in JKR's books. There were those who choose to ignore the Nazis and hope they would go away-the Dursleys and Fudge remind me of those. It reminds me of the poem-I can't quote it but it went something like... First they (the Nazis) came for the Socialists and I did nothing, then they came for the Jews then they came for me and there was no one left to help me. The Nazis also considered themselves to be a master race deserving of leading the world and those who were not of pure blood did not deserve to live. Does anyone else see the similarities?
