I'm not saying that the choice was wrong. But don't forget that Ron was supposed to have been at home sick, but since the Malfoy manor, he is as wanted for being a blood traitor as Hermione is. I am just looking at it from the point of who would have made a better Bella, not what would have been safer for all of them. I still believe Ron would have made a better Bella. As mentioned before, he knows more about the WW. He also proved he had a meaner streak when provoked. In the end, it all comes down to the fact that these are still teenagers doing a very dangerous thing. They didn't think it all through, like "Ok Hermione. When you are Bella, you have to be mean to people." They had enough examples of Bella's personality.
