I suppose not all Slythrins are the same, just like not all Gryffindors 
are the same (Pettigrew especially comes to mind :-)). As for the 
Bloody Baron - we know from the books that some Slytherins are capable 
of obsessive love (Snape) - and I don't mean it in a bad way :-), and 
we know that they are capable of giving their life for something they 
consider worthy (Regulus). Besides, we know too little about the Bloody 
Baron to really understand his motives :-).
