Potioncat:
Yes, we take a moment out of the story, turn it around, examine and
debate it. We pull in other works of fiction, scientific theories,
personal experiences and compare the moment to them.

I've actually come upon such a moment as I re-read the HP books, and
almost don't recognise it. It can look very different in the context
it belongs in.

Potioncat:
As a mother of a boy who seems to work below his potential, I've
always understood Molly. (I think.) She has a yardstick for measuring
life-success and they aren't measuring up like they ought. It's later
that she sees they do quite well in a non-traditional way. I think
she was afraid they would end up like Mundungus.
