But If they had restored the mirror how would they have been saved
from the Malfoy's dungeon? The mirror restored wouldn't have fitted
in the moleskin pouch and would have been taken away from them and
then no one would have been able to help them. Also I think the fact
that Harry is carrying round a piece of broken mirror which has hurt
him at least once is a nod to Sirius - what other use (that Harry
knew of) could it have possibly been?
