Both Trelawny & Snape spent a good amount of time between getting out 
of school & getting a job.  They are both eventually offered jobs at 
Hogwarts after their feet wet & getting the experience needed.  It is a 
safe bet to say that Hogwarts teacher have jobs before they get 
teaching positions at Hogwarts, even though we may not know their exact 
pre-Hogwarts job title.
