Yes, I agree, but still, I really hoped to learn some more details,
for example why exactly did Bella and Co. went after the Longbottoms?
Why would they think the Longbottoms knew where Vapor!Mort was?

We know from LV that the Aurors were looking for him when he was in
Albania as Vapor!Mort: "I knew that the Aurors were still abroad and
searching for me" (GoF, p.653). Maybe Mad-Eye was one of these Aurors
who went abroad looking for Vapor!Mort, that's why he missed the trial
:-).
