When you listen closely to the Sorting Hat songs, you can conclude that
Salazar Slytherin wasn't much more prejudging then the other Founders.
Gryffindor thought only brave wizards and witches worth saving
and Ravenclaw only clever ones. In their own way they were as selective
as Slytherin and it's only common-sense Hufflepuff who sees the need of
protecting all magical beings and humans as belonging to each other and
needing each other.
