Magpie:
Yes, I know. Harry identified any Slytherins that were involved.
Snape was a DE who was in love with Lily and gave his life trying to
make up for killing her and to protect Harry. Slughorn was a lower
level racist who also loved Lily. However Slytherins wind up hating
less than Purebloods--and they seem to have other problems besides
that--that's who they are in this universe. It doesn't really matter
how they get taught the bad things they are since nobody's doing
anything to teach them anything different. That's not where the story
goes. Far from having unconscious prejudice against Slytherins, my
own default setting is to think they're no different from anyone else
and that *everyone* in this universe suffers from some of the same
problems they have and just deal with it by projecting it onto the
Other that are the Slytherins. But the way the story played out the
Slytherin does mean you're starting out a sleazier person.
