Besides, I really can't imagine the Dursleys agreeing to leave their 
precious Diddykins at home so that polyjuiced Harry could ride with 
them. They also wouldn't allow Dudley (and he wouldn't agree himself) 
to drink the Polyjuice potion to transform into Dedalus Diggle, for 
example:-). 

Interesting that Dedalus and Hestia intended to Apparate with the 
Dursleys ("...we shall be driving, say ten miles or so, before 
Disapparating to the safe location ..."). This means, first, that 
Muggles can Side-Apparate with wizards, and, second, that Dedalus and 
Hestia would need to convince the Dursleys to "do magic" and, more 
than that, to abandon their luggage and their car - I can't even 
imagine how they managed to do this. Confundus charm :-)?
